“It’s like the show was made with the idea that people would watch it, and then sit around in discussion groups just like this.”

understand more about God and life and myself.”

These are just some of the things people have been saying about the Joan of Arcadia Wednesday night Bible Study and Discussion Group.  The show is based around a high school girl, Joan.  Joan sees and interacts with God who manifests in the form of different people and talks with Joan, asks her to accomplish tasks, gives her advice, and talks with her about the nature of life.

We meet in the sanctuary after dinner at 6.20, we watch an episode of the show, and then we discuss the show, often using the discussion guide published by the editor of the “Critics’ Corner” of Presbyterians Today.  Several folks take home next week’s discussion guide to read up about the show and questions before Wednesday (they are available on the bulletin board in the hall between the library and the Pastor’s office).

If you’ve been wanting an opportunity to study God, theology, and the nature of the world and creation with a group of folks whose ages range from older elementary school to Jr. High and High School, to working adults, to retired adults, you are invited to join us.  You don’t have to have been around since the beginning.  Each show, while having some context, can be understood by itself.  I hope you will join us, and enjoy something great that is going on at NPC.
