The NPC Annual BBQ & Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2005.  The yard sale will begin at 8am and end at 3pm.  Please bring all donations for the Bazaar to the church any time during the week beginning Sunday, October 16th and be sure to label it for the NPC Bazaar.  There have been so many donations coming and out for Hurricane Katrina relief, as well as the ongoing needs of the Norcross Cooperative Ministry, that the Life and Nurture Committee wants to be sure of what is really a donation for the Bazaar.  Please contact Linda Smith, Norma Badeaux or Larry Fluehr if you can help with organizing and working the Bazaar.

Remember the Pumpkin Patch will be going on at the same time!

There is still time to let Norma Badeaux know if you would like a “booth” to sell particular items (crafts, jewelry, books, paintings).  Proceeds this year will go to help rebuild the Clifton Night Shelter, as well as to other community charities.

The BBQ will be cooked by the Men of the Church—you know who you are—and if you are not sure, then become one!  It is a great tradition for the guys to spend the night before the BBQ/Bazaar cooking.  “There is no age limit!”  Please contact Marc Karasek or Van Badeaux for more details.  Also NEEDED are cooks, choppers and servers on Saturday.

Lunch will be served from 11:00-2:00.  Tickets will go on sale early in October. Please buy them ahead of time to make food purchase planning easier. Last year we had too many left-overs, and would like to be more precise this year due to budgetary concerns. You can buy tickets in the narthex in early October, or send your reservation through the NPC website, the link for which Ken Birmingham will be setting up shortly.

The menu:  BBQ pork/buns, cole slaw, baked beans, chips.   Tickets are $7.00 a plate, children under 5 are $4.00, with a $25.00 family limit.  Drinks will be $1.00.

Tools, small appliances, toys, furniture, linens, and clothes (and anything else that you may think is junk—can be another’s treasure).  Please make sure all electronic donations are in good working condition.  Your donations are tax deductible

We need help moving and pricing items after they start coming into the church.  All items will be out for the early birds by 8:00am on Saturday.  Please considering helping in this task—many hands make light work.  There will be a sign up sheet October 2 for areas you think you can help!

At newsletter press time, the other activities, such as games, rides, etc., have not been finalized.  We do know, however, that the Boy Scouts will be having a “Show and Do” all day long, Jill Swenson will be offering her delicious BBQ sauce for sale and there will be an NPC member-composed jazz band to entertain us during a portion of the day.

Please contact Norma Badeaux or look for the sign up sheets as this day will need to be tightly structured as we coordinate our volunteers with the Pumpkin Patch which will be in full swing.
