Many of you have expressed an interest in our all ages Mission Trip for September 2005. The time to pick our dates will come in late August or early September. We will have a couple of meetings of any interested parties. You don't have to come to both meetings to participate. With summer being the travel time, you might not be able to come to one, so we'll do a couple, hoping that one will fit your needs. The purpose of this meeting is to talk about possible dates for the trip for next summer, presuming all things are perfect (which they always are, right?). By coming to one of the meetings you are in no way committed to sign up, nor sign your life away, nor promise us your first born; you just let us know that you are interested. The meetings will be Sunday after church on 11 July, and another one Sunday after church on 1 August. Come to the meeting with any questions, and especially with your calendar for summer 2005. For more information prior to the meetings, check out the Appalachian Service Project home page, www.asphome.org. |

Welcome Back From Summer Picnic And Worship Service |
|
The Worship & Music committee in conjunction with the Life & Nurture Committee is helping to plan something wonderful and exciting. You've heard of the Fish Fry and Crawfish Boil. You are no doubt aware of the BBQ in October. Well, we hope to add to those wonderful traditions with a Welcome Back from Summer Worship Service and Picnic on 12 September. Here's what we'll do. We have Jones Bridge Park from 10:15 until 1:15. We have the newly renovated pavilion right in front of the river (no fishing during the service). We'll get to the Park and have worship service as regular as we can outdoors, beginning at the regular time, 10.30. When we finish, we'll have a picnic. The church will provide the burgers, dogs, buns, and the condiments, as well as the drinks. Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share. We'll enjoy lunch, and then after a little clean up, we can hang out at the park as long as we want. We need to be out of the pavilion by 1:15, but we can play Ultimate Frisbee, take our kids to the slides, can play croquet, bocce ball, fish, or just sit and talk. (Bring your lawn chairs if you like) If you want to meet at the church and drive over together to Jones Bridge Park, meet us here by 10.00 a.m. But, you are also welcome to meet us at the park that morning. We hope you will come to this wonderful event. I believe it will be an experience that we will look forward to every year. |
