SHARING IS CARING

Kwang Ya Church (P.C.U.S.A.)

You may have met Rev. Hee-dong Yoo who has visited our church a few times in recent months.  He is an ordained Presbyterian Korean Pastor, who has met with our session and requested the use of our facilities to plant a Korean Presbyterian Church named Kwang-Ya (Wilderness).  The session has agreed, and under the guidance of Presbytery, has formed a council of people from our church and from the Kwang-Ya church to meet regularly as we share space.  We plan to meet monthly and check in with each other so that we may build relationships between the Norcross Church and the Kwang-Ya Church, in order that we may work through whatever conflicts will inevitably arise, and so that we may together share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the community, and with the world.

As the council met together, we agreed on these meeting times for them.  They will meet downstairs on Sunday mornings at 11:30 – 12:40 for Bible Study / Sunday School.  At 1:00 they will meet in the sanctuary for Worship.  They will meet from 2:00 – 3:00 (give or take) for fellowship in the covenant room.  On Wednesday evenings they will have worship from 8:30 to 9:30.  On Friday nights, they will have prayer meetings from 9:00 – 11:00 p.m.  They have a small handful of interested folks, but the council together hopes and prays for their growth.  They plan to start on Sunday, July 10.

The council has grown out of the desire of, and has begun the process of, working together in partnership and fellowship.  Surely there will be

issues that will take our effort to work together to get on the same page.  But the good thing about having regular meetings is that it enables us to work these out together.  If you have any questions, please know that you can talk to me, or to Johanne Valentine, Cynthia Correa, Duck Ae Karasek or Bob Norman who are members of the council.  If you experience

something that makes you anxious, please alert myself or another

member of the council.  Mostly, we ask you to join us as we welcome our brothers and sisters in to share our space and to glorify God.
