We are collecting food and personal care items during the summer months for the Norcross Cooperative Ministry. The summer months are particularly difficult for some of our neighbors for whom the school lunch programs satisfy the need for one or two meals a day for as many as 83% of the children of the NCM client families during the school year. Please consider buying an extra bag or two of non-perishable food while you are shopping. A list of items most needed is available on the Witness & Evangelism bulletin board. The Christian Nurture Committee would like to thank the dedicated people who faithfully teach our children and youth each Sunday. Several of these teachers have expressed a desire to attend an adult class this fall. The committee is asking the congregation to pray for God to lead members of our church to serve in this ministry. The positions available are a co-teacher to help Amanda Helmstetter in the preschool class; two co-teachers for the elementary class( K- 5th grade) ; and two co-teachers for the youth class ( grades 6-12). This is a very rewarding ministry and will give people a chance to really get to know our younger members. Fall quarter begins September 19th, so if God is calling you please contact Melanie Linder, Linda Smith or Deb Bain. Sunday School continues for all ages during the summer. We would love to see children and adults enjoying the classes we are offering. We have the Faithweaver curriculum for children, youth and adults. We also have Kerygma for all who might be interested in that opportunity. We are blessed with great volunteers teaching each of these classes. Join us for Sunday School at 9:15 each Sunday morning. Confirmation Class Coming! In the Fall, we will have a Confirmation Class for anyone interested in learning about the joining the church. Contact Pastor Matt Fry for more details. |
