I cannot believe that it is almost September 7th – First day of Preschool! How exciting. The teachers reported on August 30th. We are all very excited about the new school year!! I know it will be a wonderful year! I just wanted to let you all know of a couple of things. Obviously you all know that a baby will be coming into our family very soon. The planned date as of right now is Tuesday, September 28th. I will be “out of commission” (so to speak) for October and November. Everything that is planned for those two months will already be planned by myself or discussed with the teachers before things are planned (Fall pictures, Fire truck visit, Halloween, Pumpkin Patch visits, etc.). I appreciate everyone’s support and understanding during these pregnant months. It’s been a little rough, but it will all be worth it when Murphy Abigail comes into the world! We still have openings in our Pre-K class as well as the 15-month-old class. If you know of anyone that is looking for a great preschool, please spread the word. The 2 and 3 year old classes are pretty much full, which is great!! Again, we are all very excited about the new year! Blessings, Melissa |

Jones Bridge Park Worship & Picnic When you come to church on September 12 and all the cars are gone, do not think something with Daylight Savings Time has gone awry and you missed it! We will be having a worship service at the new Jones Bridge Park Pavillion, followed by a picnic. Life & Nurture committee will furnish the burgers and dogs—please bring a chair and a dish to share. Meet at the church and carpool, or drive to Jones Bridge Park. For directions, call the church office. BBQ/Bazaar Mark the date! The Annual Fall BBQ/Bazaar will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004. Many fun events are planned for that day, including a live Christian band, outdoor games, Boy Scout demonstrations, and of course, food! Look for more details in the October Crossword, but mark the date for October 23rd. For those who have already signed up to help, thank you. One small change this year is that the BBQ meat will not be cooked all night long on church grounds, but rest assured, it will be delicious, and will have an on-site cook! Menu items and prices will be announced next month and in the Sunday bulletins. Please start thinking of items to donate to the Bazaar and plan to bring them to church in mid-October. We ask that you separate items by price of $1.00, $5.00, $10.00. There will be bins to put pre-priced items in the week before October 23rd. If you think an item is worth more than $10.00, then please put an appropriate price on it. This will help in the set up of the Bazaar while the BBQ and Pumpkin Patch are simultaneously happening. REMINDER: Ask your neighbors and co-workers for donations. They will receive a form for their tax donation. |
