NCM / Barnes & Noble Charity Book Fair – The Norcross Co-Op is having its 2nd Annual Charity Book Fair in conjunction with Barnes & Noble at the Forum. The Norcross Co-Op receives a portion of the evenings qualifying sales (non-café items). NCM uses the funds raised during this event to support its ESOL and School Supply Drive programs for the coming year. Please ask Sandra, Rodney or Diane for a book fair voucher or visit the Witness & Evangelism bulletin board in the hallway. There are a few vouchers in a “Take Me” folder on the bulletin board. Vouchers will also be available during the Mission Fair on Sunday night, September 26th. Barnes & Noble has been very generous this year by allowing us to count sales made during a whole week rather than just one evening. So, please take your book fair voucher and shop at Barnes & Noble anytime from Sunday, October 31st through Saturday evening, November 6th. Take voucher home to share with friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. We’d love to have a huge turnout for this event. Please help us spread the word and the vouchers. This is a great opportunity to buy holiday gifts and pick up your own books and music and help one of our primary charities in Norcross. NCM will have a booth and will sponsor guest readers on Saturday evening, November 6th from 6:30PM until 8PM. Stop by that evening if you can to meet the staff and volunteers of NCM and to hear special people share beautiful stories from the stage in the Children’s Department of the store. Simon Evening of Giving – The Norcross Cooperative Ministry invites you to participate in the Simon Evening of Giving. The event is an exclusive by ticket only shopping event at the Mall of Georgia on Sunday evening, November 21, 2004 from 6:30PM until 9PM. The Mall will close at its normal time and re-open for ticket holders only at 6:30PM. The food court merchants will be open. The stores will run special sales and discounts during this event. |

Calling all Potential Confirmands. We are going to start a Confirmation class shortly after the turn of the new year. If you are interested, talk to Matt. Calling all Members. We need a handful of you to join along with us as confirmation partners. You will be teamed up with a confirmand, and will join in the journey toward their membership. Come participate in the life of the church, and in the life of a confirmand. I promise you this, you will much more out of this experience than you will put into it. |

We are most thankful to our new Sunday School teachers Cynthia Correa, Amanda Helmstetter and Sandra Murray. Amanda is teaching the preschool class (3&4 year olds), Cynthia is teaching the elementary class (K-5th), and Sandra is teaching the middle school class (6th-8th). Marc Karasek continues to teach the high school students. If you feel called to help with one of these classes, please see either the teacher or a member of the Christian Education & Development committee. We want to give our thanks to Charlotte Pekelder for her many years of service in the church nursery. Charlotte has left to pursue other opportunities that will benefit her family. Since Charlotte is no longer with us, we now have one adult short in the nursery. We would like to encourage all school-age children (beginning with Kindergarten) to remain upstairs and worship with their families. Please see Linda Smith if you would like to add your name to the nursery list to help fill the opening left with Charlotte’s departure. Again, we wish Charlotte and her family all the best! |
