Welcome to Brock Terry Director of Music Ministries August 6, 2007

Decatur, Alabama native Brock Terry is currently a graduate assistant in choral conducting at Emory
University in Atlanta, Georgia. At age 29, he has been serving the music ministry of various churches on
either a part-time or full-time basis for more than 10 years and studying church choral music professionally
for over 20 years.
Having been a member of the Birmingham Boys Choir (Birmingham, Alabama)
since age seven, he was also invited (though he opted not to join) to become
a member of the American Boychoir in Princeton, New Jersey at age 10.
At 17, Brock had the distinction of being honored as one of the top student
accompanists in the state of Alabama by the Alabama Vocal Association.
In 1998 he composed, arranged and orchestrated the music for an original
musical entitled The Congregation. That spring, it was performed to critical
acclaim in Springfield, Missouri.
Brock received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Georgetown College in
Georgetown, Kentucky in 2003. Over the past decade, he has had the privilege to have been chosen as the
musical director for several musical theatre productions both in Kentucky and Florida. Among those
productions are Into the Woods, Meet Me in St. Louis, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Quilters, Mame,
and Singin' in the Rain.
Brock is also a member of the American Choral Directors' Association. In 2004 and 2005, he directed the
Gold Coast Ringers handbell choir as they toured through Alabama, Georgia and Florida. During his time
as Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Boca Raton, Florida, he was given the opportunity to
conduct gifted choirs, orchestras and soloists performing major works such as John Rutter's cycle of
spirituals Feel the Spirit and Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria.
